The Law Office of Carol A. Wilson, PLLC, has been recognized for the sixth consecutive year on the “Best Law Firms” annual list of outstanding legal practices. This achievement recognizes the firm as one of Dallas's premier family law firms.

To meet the eligibility criteria, a firm must employ an attorney who has achieved recognition in that year's annual Best Lawyers in America edition. Surveys are sent to each firm, and client and professional referral sources are consulted. Data is also collected from Best Lawyers ballots, and a final review determines which firms are included on the list and their recognized practice areas.

Best Law Firms is just one of the many recognitions Carol has received this year. She has also again been named to Texas Super Lawyers (for the 15th year in a row), Best Lawyers in America, and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.

Carol Wilson has been selected for the 2024 annual Texas Super Lawyers list, marking her 15th year of recognition for her work in family law. Carol was also named for the eighth year to the list of the Top 50 Women Texas Super Lawyers, and the fifth year to the Top 100 D-FW Super Lawyers.

These recognitions come alongside Carol and her firm once again being named to The Best Lawyers in America and Best Law Firms lists. Carol was also recently recognized by D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.

Carol’s many years of national and regional awards highlight an illustrious career in family law that includes almost four decades of experience litigating and trying complex divorce, property division, and child custody cases. In 1992, Carol met the additional rigorous experience and testing requirements to achieve her Board Certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Fewer than 10% of Texas lawyers have passed the Board Certification requirements in their area of legal specialization.   
 

Super Lawyers uses a patented multiphase selection process that results in no more than 5% of the attorneys in each state being named to their list. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research, and each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.

For the seventh year in a row, Carol A. Wilson has been named to The Best Lawyers in America©, which recognizes the top attorneys in the United States. Carol was included in the 2025 edition for her work in family law.

Carol has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for 32 years and has nearly 40 years of experience litigating and trying complex divorce, property division, and child custody cases.

Carol’s other regional and national recognitions include being named to D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas list since 2018, as well as multiple annual selections to Texas Super Lawyers, which has repeatedly named her one of the Top 50 women lawyers in Texas and one of the Top 100 lawyers in Dallas-Fort Worth. The Law Office of Carol A. Wilson has been included on the Best Law Firms list published by Best Lawyers since 2020.

To develop their annual list, Best Lawyers conducts a multi-step review process that includes nominations and peer review. Attorneys are not permitted to remit payment in exchange for a listing.

Congratulations to Carol for being named, yet again, to D Magazine’s list of the Best Lawyers in Dallas for her work in family law. 

To earn a spot on the list, D Magazine’s editors collect nominations from lawyers throughout Dallas/Fort Worth and then conduct an independent review in consultation with an anonymous group of leading local attorneys. 

A Texas lawyer for more than 35 years and Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for more than 30 years, Carol skillfully litigates and tries complex divorce, property division, and child custody cases.  

In addition to being recognized by D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas list, she has also been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers for 14 years, including being named one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in Texas from 2017-2023 and the Top 100 Lawyers in DFW for four years. Additionally, she was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2019, and her firm has been recognized by Best Law Firms since 2021.

In October 2019, Greenville University presented Carol Wilson with the Greenville University Distinguished Alumna Award, which recognizes alumni who have demonstrated notable accomplishment.

Carol, who graduated from Greenville in 1981,  is grateful and humbled to receive this honor. She follows in the footsteps of her parents, Dr. James E. Wilson and Wilma L. Wilson, by being honored and leaving a legacy at Greenville University.
